Dollard des Ormeaux Monument
Designed
by Alfred Laliberté in 1920, this monument was erected
in memory of this French officer who was killed in 1660 by the Iroquois
at the Long-Sault with sixteen of his compatriotes. He became one
of the heroes of Quebec. To commemorate Dollard, the third Monday
of May was made a public holiday in Quebec.
